Diana grew up in GSFC and became a Christian in her early teens through the ministry of the Church.  Diana previously worked as a classroom assistant and was the manager of a children’s nursery before taking on the responsibility for Children’s and Families work within the church here.  She is married to Chris and they have three children and seven grandchildren.  In her spare time, Diana enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and watching films.

1697532756510Liz Jenkin -Elder
Liz joined GSFC as a newly-wed with her husband Chris in 1977.  Now a retired headteacher, she divides her time between caring for her grandchildren, supporting trainee teachers, and volunteering in the community.  Liz is also a governor at Great and Little Shelford Primary School and a trustee of the GenR8 charity.  Within Great Shelford Free Church (GSFC), she feels her areas of ministry are leading worship, speaking, working with children and encouraging others.

1715341227402Laurence Wood - Elder
Laurence and his wife Helen have worshipped at G.S.F.C. for over 40 years and have both served in a variety of ways. Laurence, now retired, worked as a Senior Charge Nurse within the Neuroscience department at Addenbrookes Hospital and in more recent years as a Senior Lecturer in Health Studies at Anglia Ruskin University. Finally before he retired he worked as part of the Senior Nursing Team at a Care Home in Cambridge specialising in End of Life Care. He plays the piano and has developed and led worship within the Church for which he has a particular passion. In his spare time he enjoys being part of a local Rock Choir and going to the theatre and other live music events. Laurence is keen to develop the pastoral care side of his role alongside supporting and encouraging Diana and all leaders in their individual roles as they serve the Church.

Jefferson ColinColin Jefferson - Deacon
Colin became a Christian in his early teens at an Evangelical Church in Bedlington Northumberland).  Colin is married to Janet, he retired in 2011 and they now live in Sawston.  Both he and Janet quickly realised that the friendliness, family atmosphere,  and preaching of the Gospel @ GSFC confirmed their calling.  Colin's time is now divided between being Chairman of Shelford Twinning Association, their house in France, and supporting their two sons, Tim and  Nick.  Most importantly, Janet his wife is his number one priority in life.

Chris SmithChris Smith - Deacon
Chris became a deacon in 2018 and is the youngest member of the Leadership Team! He has been a Christian since an early age and is grateful to the heritage passed on by his parents. He married Charlotte in 2012 and has two young sons, Samuel and Harry. Chris and Charlotte have been church members since 2015 and Chris is enthusiastic to play a part in seeing God’s kingdom come in Shelford.  Since completing his studies in 2010, he has been working at Johnson Matthey as an Industrial Chemist. Outside of work, he loves spending time with the family. In the rare moments when hobbies can be indulged, he enjoys running, cooking, audiobooks and following the (mis)fortunes of his favourite football team, Derby County.

GB WorkGraham Briscoe - Deacon
Graham and his wife Sylvia joined GSFC in 2011, having transferred from Horley Baptist Church, where he was baptised in 2007. Graham and Sylvia were married in 1988 and have 3 adult children; boy/girl twins (Will & Zoe) and a younger son (Greg). An analytical chemist by education and training, Graham has spent almost his entire career in the pharmaceutical industry, initially as a Quality Control Analyst before moving into Quality Assurance and is currently self-employed as a Quality Consultant. As a 'devout agnostic' for the first 40+ years of his life, he understands why many non-believers find it hard to enter a church for anything other than attending a christening, wedding or funeral, but really wishes that they would take that first step. Graham has held a passion for football since he was a boy and has supported Chelsea FC for over 50 years. He played local league football in his home town of Horley for many years, still tries to play cricket and footgolf when he can and is a regular pub quizzer.

Fiona is married to Paul and they love spending time with their two grown-up children and three grandchildren. They appreciate opportunities to travel and experience different cultures and amazing scenery. In her spare time, Fiona enjoys exercise and is a keen sports fan, especially as a supporter of Aston Villa and Northampton Saints.
