Is anyone too bad for God to forgive? The greatest opponent of the early Christians went on the rampage to get as many believers locked up – or worse – as he could, but Jesus met him on the road to Damascus and his life was transformed. In this session we learn how God used an ‘ordinary’ disciple who was obedient in spite of the perceived risks.

What does God want to do with my life? And am I willing to obey, even when the path He chooses is not as glamorous or exciting as I hoped it might be? In this session of Roots and Shoots we consider what happened to Philip when he was in the middle of exciting work in Samaria and we consider what this could mean for us.

Is your faith worth living for? After Stephen’s martyrdom the other believers face persecution with some being imprisoned and others being scattered away from Jerusalem. But God has a plan and in this study we learn what persecution does to the Church and we consider the story of Simon Magus (the sorcerer) and the effects of sin on his heart.

Is your faith worth dying for? Stephen is the first person to be martyred for his faith in Jesus Christ, and he was killed by supposedly religious people! Is your faith like Stephen’s? Or might it be hollow, like that of the religious people who killed him because they could not recognise that Jesus was (and is) the Messiah?
