1. We start with Palm Sunday as two little boys wave palm branches to welcome Jesus on his entry into Jerusalem.
The children in Kids' Club painted this happy scene of the humble king, riding on a donkey.
Matthew 21:1-11 |

2. In the Temple, we see Jesus from the perspective of a stall-holder who has taken refuge on the floor, his goods scattering about him.
Matthew 21:12

3. This copy of Vettriano's 'Singing Butler' in acrylics provides a gentle illustration for Jesus' teaching about love.
Matthew 22:34-40

4. This beautiful glass painting was inspired by the film 'Jesus Christ, Superstar'. It shows a woman anointing Jesus with expensive perfume. He defends her action to his disciples...
Matthew 26:6-13 |

5. Da Vinci's 'Last Supper' was the inspiration for this pastel drawing as the disciples react to the revelation that one of them will betray Jesus.
Matthew 26:17-30 |

6. Evoking Gethsemane, this lovely copy of 'The Praying Hands' by Albrecht Durer was drawn by Prue van der Hoorn, our artist for the project.
Matthew 26:36-46 |

7. The arrest of Jesus was painted in the style of Warhol by the Youth Group. Taken from the soldiers' perspective, it is just another night duty.

10. This picture of the crucifixion is painted in the style of Monet and shows Mary's perspective, weeping as she watches her son die.
Matthew 27:32-56 |

11. We have used ModRoc to represent the tomb of Jesus. It belonged to Joseph of Arimathea, who asked for the body and placed it in his own tomb, newly hewn from rock.
Matthew 27:57-61 |

12. And so, like sheep without a shepherd, we wait for the resurrection. This drawing in charcoal and chalk reminds us of the price of our forgiveness.
Isaiah 53:7-9 |

The picture above shows a collection of art from other parts of the world, part of our reflection on how we can express faith through art.
The last piece in the series, 'The Resurrection', pictured left, was an installation on Easter Sunday.
